Bollywood Celebrities Who Are From Non-Filmy Family!

We've all grown up watching Bollywood movies,idolising our movie stars and believing that this industry is a  parallel univers, light years away from the common man.

Like most children in india, kids from film famillies too end up taking up the profession of their parents, but that doesn't mean that bollywood is allergic to "Outsiders" in fact, there have been success stories in the film industry of people who have made it large with hard work and perseverance, without any backing or connection in the industry.

Here's how these actors got their first break in Bollywood and went from being outsider to superstar:




1 . Shahrukh Khan 

       We saved King Khan for the last because all said and done to become a star of his level without having any influential support system is a mammoth task that truly requires some serious skill and confidence. Shahrukh Khan's father was an indian independence activist based out of peshaawar. He came from humble backgrounds & his debut was a TV show called  "Fauji" where he starred as the protagonist. His film debut "Deewana" was a major hit and nothing has changed ever since.

2. Akshay Kumar

       The son of a military officer,Akshay was born in Amristsar and later moved to delhi and then Mumbai. After earning a black belt in Taekwondo in india, he moved to Bangkok to learn Muay Thai while working as a chef and a waiter. He later switched to modelling for financial reasons and then hit the jackpot when he got his debut role in the movie "Deedar". He faced many ups and downs even in his career but have always worked harder.

3.Deepika Padukone

     The Banglorean beauty was born to a famous Badminton player Prakash, Thanks to a natural flair for the game, She went on to play badminton at a National level before she switched to modelling. She started off her career in a dual role opposite Shahrukh Khan in the hit movie "Om Shanti OM". Now she's become one of the biggest stars in bollywood and is the preferred leading for most films.

4.Siddharth Malhotra 

       Siddharth Malhotra belongs to an educated family, where his father is a captain in the Merchant Navy and mother is a Housewife. His elder brother has a cushy finance job. He lived his earlier years in Delhi and moved to Mumbai at the Age of 8. He attended St.Xaviers school in Mumbai and dropped out of college to pursue a career in Modeling.

5. Priyanka Chopra

          Army kid whose father was a panjabi. While her mother is from Jharkhand. This actress who pursued her higher studies in the US was keen on becoming a software engineer or a criminal Psychologist. However, everything changed when she returned home and her mother singed her up for the Femina Miss India competition. She went on to win Miss World and Soon landed many acting roles.

6.John Abraham

        John Abraham grew up in a middle class family to a Christian father and Parsi mother. His father is an architect and mother is a charity worker. He got his bachelor's degree in honors economics from Jai Hind College and MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. As a student, John was just a bit above average, and was always in the Top 15 in his class.

       But he was the captain of the football team at Jai Hind College. He even ran track races at his school and has been trained in Tae Kwon do under master Javed Khan.

7. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

      Born in a small town of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh from a Muslim family, where his late father was a Farmer, Siddiqui grew up amongst nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters. He worked as a chemist in a petrochemical company Till he moved to Delhi to pursue acting. He struggled for many years doing small roles in films till he finally won critical acclaim for his preformances in films like "Black Friday" and "Patang'.
